Kinja'd!!!

I love me some fox chassis Thunderbirds and Cougars, but this one's a bit high IMHO.....

The ad is here:

http://www.oldforgemotorcars.com/detail-1983-fo…

$14,900 for a car that we're not sure even starts yet from the sound of the ad possibly needs a rebuild on the big block.....

Those bias plys out back need to go as well.....

If it runs, drives and all it needs is a new set of tires, NP.

needs anywork on that big block and ur definitely in CP.

Oh, and i call BULLSHIT on not trying to start it. no one pulls a car like this into their shop and doesnt try and start it.

No, just Thunderbird ;) On a side note; a metal band has taken that name from one of the most awesome shows ever:

"Heck the motor build cost more than our asking price".

Horseshit. Any knuckle-dragger with a Summit catalog can build this engine. Also, who cheaps-out for cast hypereutectic pistons over forged?

If that motor needs a rebuild they didn't, but other than that I'm inclined to agree with you. I'm a fan of fuel injection in these cars. I wonder how much they'd want for a roller and they could keep motor and trans.

I mean I guess you could do that because it's already set up for drag racing with everything else.

But would it be cheaper to just gut/redo a normal late 80s tbird?

I saw that. It actually says "hypercutech." Whatever THAT means. My guess is exactly what you state. They're fine for an everyday car with normal power levels, but when you start adding forced induction or giggle gas someone should have a camera ready.

Probably. I let on in VERY clean condition slip through my hands last month. $1850. Had new paint due to a minor collision on the front fender. Low miles, bone stock standard output 5.0 V8. Disco-digital dash. 2 tone brown. Jalop-tastic! BTW Paint is done on mine!!!

Forgive the cell phone pic and in phone editing software.....Also I have to clean the wheels.

Huge CRACK PIPE!

Look closely at the engine build. I see no "forged" parts or much detail for that matter and who wants to pay that kind of money for a bunch of "old" parts anyways. Performance parts do not hold their value well because there is always something a bit better just around the corner.

If they cut the price in half, then maybe, IMO.
